diploma project
PRINT APPAREL A FABINDIA FESTIVE COLLECTION-2015 AND JAPAN COLLECTION S/S-2015
The diploma project covered two collections, for which one had to contribute the textile design inputs. The project brief covering two distinct natures of print collection. One began with sourcing of material and exploring the spaces near Jaipur, such as Sanganer; and benefitted by visiting craftsmen and conducting a field study.
The next step was researching clients and doing a culture study, analysing the market needs, as per trends. Then came exploration and concept generation with further refinement and assessment by clients.
One had to use design elements like prints, embroideries and detailing, minimally yet intelligently to enhance appropriate fabrics on pre-existing garments and come up with cohesive ensembles that could easily be mixed and matched. This was sent for swatch sampling and then tweaked and used in garments.
