Impressions - Collections of Jacquard and Embroidery
The project specifically aimed to design and conceptualise home textiles for a fair. The target market was a high-end niche of the international market. The range covers jacquard fabrics for curtain and upholstery, including embroidery design based on moodboards.
The design was developed, keeping in mind current market trends. Explorations were carried out in textures, stripes and geometric designs. Fabrics were made with different combinations of materials, such as viscose, acrylic, HSY, cotton and linen. Many techniques like weave variations, interaction between colours, embellishments and effect of light were used. Two collections of home furnishing were designed – ‘Paper Story,’ derived from classification of paper; and ‘Science Flora’ which has strong impressions of microscopic objects.
