diploma project
Unveiling loops
The objective of the project was to develop a range of bath linen products using different techniques on various surfaces. The research phase involved market study, lifestyle expectations of the consumer, and financial constraints.
Four collections were developed around different themes for the surface patterns: Native American tribal patterns; memories of a migrated community using Tibetan motifs; memories of a person through the symbolism of a flower as a sign of love; and underwater life for a beach collection. The final concepts were refined in form, layout, pattern and colour based on intensive trend-forecast studies.
The artworks were created in accordance with the size of the towel. Colours were chosen from the existing palette of the sponsor's design library and the trend book. The project helped enhance the current design collection of the company by adding elements that are in trend for the upcoming season.
