TRADITION AND CULTURE: a print collection for apparel

The initial brief required me to develop a collection of screen printed fabric for apparels; which consisted of developing new designs and creating suitable colour combinations of already existing screens. This was followed by a phase of getting acquainted with the organisation, its range of activities and the nature of its national & international clients. The redefined brief became: “to develop an exclusive range of screen printed fabrics for the high-end brand in the market.”

Themes were selected which were new, but worked out a look that retained the brand identity; viz. Jamawar shawls, architecture and bandhini. The two main activities included working on the concept for prints and on the colour options of the existing design. Some of the designs have been implemented, and taken to the production stage.
