Bedding Collections for a Home Store
The initial brief was developing three bedding collections and a range of quilts for the store. The collections would be formed by a combination of prints surfaces and surface textures. The aim was to find connections between upcoming trends and the company’s strengths. The crucial part was understanding buyers’ tastes and preferences. The design process undertaken was according to the industrial product development requirement.
The project has three bedding collections. The first is inspired from local flora. The second takes its inspiration from the Madhubani paintings of Bihar. The third is a kids collection, inspired from birds. Initial sketching of elements from inspiration, and giving to them visual textures, gave the basic skeleton for prints. Imparting a fresh, yet sophisticated palette of colours, formed the final prints; which were coordinated with surface textures for cushions and edgings.
