Threads with a soul: A collection of Home furnishing under CSR.

The project was ‘ Threads with a soul: A collection of home furnishings.’ The objective was to understand the working and skill sets of the women at both the places and work together in order to develop a range of cushions, which would incorporate their skills and design aesthetics as well.

With the main focus on women’s empowerment, the project was divided in two major parts, with the first part involving the vocational training centres run in different parts of Kutch, and the second involving working with an Ahmedabad-based NGO, Gramshree.

The project also involved understanding and working with various Kutch-based textile crafts, and the indigenous Kala cotton, grown exclusively in Kutch. The final outcome was a collection of cushions, developed at the company’s CSR center and the NGO; and a bed collection. –136 words
