Styling of safety shoe for Honeywell China

The client is one of the pioneering companies in safety products for industrial workers around the world.The project began by studying and understanding what constitutes a safety shoe, the market trends, consumers demands in fashion shoes and the factors affecting styling. The market study dealt with identifying major brands and strategies adopted by them. How their brand identity and design language were getting reflected, what attributes were being impressed and what segment of the market was being targeted, were also observed. This understanding laid a defined path and served as a benchmark.

Key insights from research were taken forward and initial concepts were sketched. Hereon, an iterative process was followed, based on inputs given by engineering, manufacturing and marketing. Once the final design was agreed upon, mock-ups and prototypes were made to realise the design physically, as a 3D printed model.
