LIGHTING DESIGN FOR LOREN Z*KAZ MILANO

The aim was to understand the advantages and disadvantages of LED lighting technology and to design lighting pieces for home and contract environment, keeping in mind European design markets. The outcome was to be pitched to lighting manufacturing companies.

The research process included studying the history of lighting design and various factors influencing the future; for analysis to set trends. The design process was an oscillation between concept refinement and detailed discussions to develop better understanding of applying the concept to the context; in order to approach the desired learning curve. Practicalities of manufacturing and feasibility were considered before digital prototyping.

The outcome was a series of six lighting concepts as part of a design pitch.
