Evolving design strategies for transition to Circular Economy: A Case study with Philips Healthcare

This exploration project seeks to identify opportunities in an organisation to help it transition towards a circular economy-run business model. It is presented in three connected cycles:

The first cycle explores the intervention touchpoints. The second focuses on the AngioDiagnostic (AD5) table. Here, the product is studied for its reuse value with reference to its older version. Redesign proposals are put forth for consideration along with business strategies. The third cycle is based on experiences from previous cycles and added research; involving analysing stakeholders’ involvement in product development and how issues of information transparency, access and accountability of decisions taken are addressed in a concept level plugin intervention that would be part of the designers’ usual 3D modelling software platform.

This CE plugin is one of the touchpoints of an organisation-wide implementation of the CE+ ERP system that they would undergo for a deeper commitment.
