Design for Wearable Technology: Intuitive Smartwatch

This project was an endeavour to understand the challenges in designing a smart watch and provide a new direction based on keen observation of trends, philosophies and perceptions of users. Drawing the delicate balance so that the new product lives up to the legacy of crafted timepieces and offers seamless intuitive ways to interact with powerful technology was the central focus.

The idea was to enable the user to interact with the new smartwatch as an intuitive extension of smart phones. The project explored a new technology to make calling interactions seamless. Dealing with new technology meant re-looking at smartwatches as whole – new mechanisms, charging cycles, displays and deeper questioning of what the product stands for.

Merging technology with a classic product and bringing the best of both worlds together was the key to deliverables for this project.
