SPECTROMETER REDESIGN FOR BLOOD & URINE SAMPLING

The project was for an American client, who is developing rapid diagnostic tools for detecting and characterising bacterial/fungal infections. One had to work on the Spectral Platforms IVD test, which is rapid and inexpensive; its presence significantly reducing the chance of misdiagnosis. If the patient is not a candidate for admission, and the onslaught of sepsis is missed, the consequences to the patient are a period of extended hospitalisation and a good chance of death. The tests prevent that from happening.

Major emphasis was given on to how to bring all components together into a single unit. Different component layouts were explored with product architecture. Thereafter one worked on the ergonomic and product aesthetics, to see how easily a user can interact and operate intuitive designs.

The scope of the project was limited to innovation and explored how various components were brought to operate as a complete single product.
