Packaging Design for New Rin Antibac by finding cues of Hygiene
The client wished to cater to the need for a germ remover by launching an antibacterial detergent powder in the market. This means that the product design demanded an identity and packaging. Before the design process began, it was important to get the consumers’ (who is the potential user) perception on antibacterial products and their visual and sensorial associations.
The survey feedback gave insights about various shapes, forms and colors which they relate to killing of germs. The survey also brought in front a problem in packaging; viz. that the powder becomes chalky and soggy due to frequent exposure to the air, once the pack is opened. This gave an opportunity to develop an understanding of "hygiene" parameters by consumers through packaging design and making the washing process easier; thereby protecting them from laundry bacteria.
