‘Premiumization’ of Lakme through an interactive kiosk in a retail space
The project began with an aspiration that the client wanted to elevate its position from mainstream to a premium brand. Finding the drivers of ‘premiumness’ was required.
A consumer survey was conducted to see if the characteristics of premiumness apply. The extract brought cues of premiumness in product packaging. a requirement of design intervention was felt in terms of retail space.
During a qualitative survey of women’s retail experience, areas were identified where client needs to work towards better consumer interaction. The feedback also revealed a major gap between consumers and the brand.
Hence, An interactive kiosk (skin analysis application-based device) was designed, aimed at attending to the consumer in the absence of an advisor.
This engagement and an added level of convenience to the shopping experience would further play a role in positioning the client as an expert brand and would lend a premium outlook.
