Re-designing Application Lifecycle Management: Maintenance Planner
The project was to re-design Graphical User Interface (GUI) for an application life cycle management tool called Maintenance Planner – an online on-demand application to visualise and maintain a landscape of systems at SAP’s client end.
It dealt with handling large quantity of data to be interpreted and converted into a tangible and meaningful resource for the users. Maintenance Planner is a tool for planning. The project involved critical analysis of the existing tool, detecting flaws, conceptualising and proposing changes with solutions. Precursors for executing ideas were as important as the ideas since it took one through a thorough background study of the organisation, its products, the existing state of project. This was followed up with heuristic evaluation, case studies, user survey, usability research, initial ideas/explorations, building scenarios and personas, wire-frames, application mockups, usability and refinement.
Deliverables were high fidelity mock-up, which could be used as a reference for development and implementation.
