THANGAM KALIKA
The film is called Thangam Thalika (The Golden Hour), a story of two women, absolutely opposite to each other, who are at a crucial point in their lives. There is Thangam, a 50-year-old, who has left home out of anger and frustration towards her family’s indifference. Then there is Kalika, a 25-year-old young girl, who has spent most of her life travelling. She is suffering from a broken engagement. The film is about how they meet, deal with their pain, journey into letting go of their past resentments and move on. While Thangam lets go of her attachments and sets herself free in order to find herself, Kalika retraces her roots and allows people to finally enter her space and take care of her.
Since it’s a character-based film, several people were researched to build the main characters. Especial efforts were made to keep the team gender balanced.
