My Dear Foodie

My project is a television pilot for a hypothetical food show ‘My dear Foodie.’ Food is a journey, always traveling from yesterday to tomorrow, from one diary to another and between two kitchens that are miles apart. The idea is to trace this journey of a dish popularised by its people, place and time. To know how exactly an ordinary dish transpires and becomes something altogether ambrosial.

As far as the ‘story-telling’ is concerned, when it comes to food and tracing its journey, who better than the older generation, to tell the story? They have years of experience, numerous fond memories and deep sentimental attachments to the food they cook and eat.

This show is basically about their stories, related to the dish, their fondest memory and their secret authentic family recipe, passed down for generations. Thirteen episodes were proposed and a pilot was made on Goan Fish Curry.
