Jaipur Foot
Breakthrough design
Handicapped & disabled
Accessibility & affordability
diploma project
The idea is to generate a film on a wonderfully designed product and sensitise broader masses towards disabled people. The research objectives were: to explore a design product widely used, but less widely recognised as a breakthrough design; to study those behind the product and their role; to examine the existentialist realities of people with locomotive disabilities.

Other research questions covered examining new technologies, exploring easy accessibility for masses in the context of poverty, discussing the role of government in raising awareness and distribution, and examining the positioning of the foot vis-a-vis other expensive products.

It is an interactive film with interviews, also showcasing Jaipur city and the process of foot manufacture; narrated like a story with visuals to complement.
