Paperboat sailor

The story revolves around a 12-year-old autistic boy, Siddharth. One night, he finds his neighbour’s dog lying dead in the driveway, due to unnatural causes. He wants to solve the mystery of the dog’s death. During the process, he finds out that his mother, who supposedly died when he was seven, is actually alive, and a teacher in another town. Why she left him is a new mystery!

The story deals with the friendship between a father and son. It portrays how beautiful the mind of a child is, whom we may take for granted and tag as ‘abnormal.’ Siddharth has a photographic memory. Living alone with his father, he resides in a world of his own, often floating into day dreams and fantasies. He understands maths. He understands science. What he can’t understand are other human beings.
