Design of lighting products using Dupont™ Corian

The objective of the project was to use design as a springboard for Dupont™ Corian® to venture into organized retail segments. Dupont™ Corian® is a material that is predominantly used for cladding and countertop applications. This project explored various properties of the versatile material and envisaged the possibilities of using it to provide market driven solutions in the home décor and interior segments.

Initial surveys with the identified stakeholders and brainstorming sessions were instrumental in giving insights on the present scenario in this context. Design directions were pursued and after continued ideation, certain luminaries were prototyped. Eventually, a user evaluation survey was conducted across three cities to understand the consumer perception and commercial potential of the designed products; besides getting them validated by the market.
