CONTEMPORARY DESIGNS FOR MODERN HOUSEHOLDS
The objectives were: (i)to make modular furniture, easy to shift, pack, place; (ii) to see what young Indians require and bring culture to our homes; (iii) to use traditional forms of furniture and perceive them in contemporary architecture in metropolitan India; (iv) to make interactive furniture involving little effort from buyers which helps set up a changeable habitat.
Since the concept was based mostly on trend research, it required innovation and form study, market research and interaction with the clientele. Research needed to be set up, knowing the requirements of the urban nomads; bouncing off ideas and getting their opinions on the basic concept. As a part of the basic conceptualisation, market analysis and making the companies basic draft structure was also expected.
The overall methodology involved research, analysis, form study & materials (sketching, conceptualising, material usage, getting the basic look & feel), modelling, prototypping and finally, the deliverables.
