"Pagli"

Set in an industrial world, two individuals, Beany and Ashwin, are in search of their paradise; having only each other as remnants of familiarity. The story takes place at a road crossing, in a heavily occupied city. The two are great friends and have spent their days laughing with and at each other. The target was general audiences, especially people from older sections of society, as well as young children.

The process involved sketching from the diary. Pi.Doodles were ongoing ideating during the story process. Visualisation of spaces were taken from references of road layouts in New Delhi, as well as references of style by illustrator Mattias Adolfson. The animatic process was the most important part of the project. The decision to lock down the animatic prior to other requirements was done in order to plan the shot breakdown. The system of key framing was used with in-betweens for animation.
