WATER DIARIES

Drawing from one’s most intimate thoughts, this film is about a constant inner journey of revisiting, reconnecting and reinventing oneself during one of the most mundane activities –taking a shower.

There is something magical and redeeming about drenching in water. The moment it touches the skin, there is an unexplainable sense of lightness and one can almost feel the weight leave the body. As one drowns oneself in this meditative deluge, all senses unite to become a single stream which flows through the hidden nooks and crannies of existence, bringing out what has been hiding or inaccessible for days, months, sometimes years; as if touching everything up and reminding oneself what is one’s own and has been forgotten. As this current runs its course, it comes flowing back to where it all started – oneself – but only reborn. My film is an attempt to evoke this sense of healing.
