The Wankho Script
This film aims at the preservation of Wancho language and keeping the identity of Wancho alive and intact. The Wancho are a tribal people inhabiting the Patkai Hills of Arunachal Pradesh. The short educational animation film will help people of any age to learn the newly developed Script.
The woodcarver along with two village kid guide the audience throughout the film. It includes Wancho numerals, introduction of the script, use and pronunciation. Most of the elements are related to tradition and lifestyle, so that local audiences can connect.
The film aims to cover all villages and schools and help educate the people and make them realise the importance of learning and writing in their mother tongue. The goal is to make the Wancho people aware that their art, craft and all authentic patterns of their identity are dying; and to showcase the rich tradition, culture, art and craft.
