JUST ANOTHER DAY
A conscious disregard of reality does not make ours a better society. We sometimes forget that we are also a part of the world that we condemn. We live in a state of denial, where we need to come out of our comfort zone in order to make our lives meaningful,
This is an experimental short film, emphasising on ‘social apathy;’ using my background in printmaking and art direction. Events that I witnessed led me to choose ‘escapism’ as the topic of my film. Complacency, mediocrity and apathy have been built right into our culture and social system, as if in some way, we are all headed towards a dystopian paradise. It’s important to do what we really need to do, and to show society what they need to see, rather than what they may want to see.
The film is a black and white classical 2d cell animation, using a distorted rendering technique.
