JAANWAR

The diploma project is a story of the night; more of a narrative which depicts the futile life of a person who lives on the fringe of society. One who is alone in the world with nothing to lose and too little to gain. It contains the events of a single night, where an old man is acting on his primeval instincts for hunger and survival.

It is an attempt to explore narratives in a contrasting manner both, conceptually and visually. A grim picture is created of the heartlands to make viewers uncomfortable and think about these subjects.

It is an animated 2D short film, mostly hand-drawn on paper or digital interface. Animation was done in traditional medium and painting, compositing, editing and sound design was done on digital interface. The visual style is dominantly high contrast, black and white. Mixed multiple style images are used.
