My diploma project was to design multi-sensory everyday playing objects such as
kits, puzzles or toys for children in the age group of 5 to 10 years. The objective of
the project was to disseminate environmental values and messages which children
can easily learn, understand and retain with real fun and enjoyment. My design brief
was “Facilitating learning through multi-sensory experiences”. The challenge was not
just to understand the immediate problems and needs of the user but also to transform
universal aspirations into feasible product.

Research for this project included survey through the design processes and study of
technology. Mind mapping and opportunity mapping were used to generate ideas. One
section of the installation was done in the form of Rhinoceros and CAD models were
developed for better understanding. The final form had the feasibility to use technology
and materials which may be changed depending on the type of manufacturing process
available at the point of time when the product is intended to be launched.
