Axiom Education is an innovative education solutions provider. Iken Braingym is their
flagship shop that focuses on learning in a non-conventional way. My diploma project
was to design interactive modules of play for the Iken Braingym workshop by:
• exploring and designing tangible solutions to cater the needs of a workshop
• ensuring free working of the workshop space in terms of its utilisation
• giving special attention to the display, working, and storage aspects.
So far, very little has been done towards developing standards for a workshop space
where children learn and experience various concepts through hands on activities. The
theme was to create a place of ‘learning by doing’ that not only imparted academic and
technological knowledge, but also gave the child an opportunity for self development
while giving equal importance to structured as well as unstructured education. Through
research and consolidation of the findings, my aim was to develop a complete module
which would look after all the activities happening in the workshop. I have looked upon
finer aspects of making a workshop space interactive and meaningful to children—right
from their seating to their spatial integration and hierarchy. |
