KHAGABANDHA

The project brief was to design a recreational personal mobility device for airborne extreme sports,for the year 2025.

The process involved research (DATA Collection and mapping of all kinds of airborne extreme sports); brainstorming and opportunity mapping (collection of keywords and finding the scope of a new extreme sport); specific literature study (Da Vinci, Hindu mythology, extreme sports ancillaries, military advancements, personality studies pioneering the aviation world); developing technical/scientific understanding of this area (wingsuits in brief, aerodynamics of a flying object, human body as a fuselage, human anatomy study, amazing flying species, ram-air phenomenon, bionics and avionics, jet-pack, future laser technology for spacecraft propulsion).

The conceptualisation phase involved hypothesis building (persona building, scenario creation). Ideation covered sketches relating to the suit, helmet, skating boots, propulsion system. Prototypes included product 2D renderings and product 3D modelling. The deliverables were research documents, concept sketches, renderings of products/scenario/persona day-in-life, physical model, and documentation.
