diploma project
MilAap
The project required designing three ranges of ethnic/fusion wear for women. The brief also called for designing print graphics for collections. The brand was looking at adding a “newer & fresher look” to its existing line that would take care of contemporary market trends, and present the offering in their usual way; admired by their young, stylish & expressive youthful clientele.
The project was initiated with research on understanding the brand and what sets it apart, followed by research/ analysis of trends, competitors, consumer preferences, trend forecasts, runway reports. Based on the analyses, design directions were formulated and presented as indicative boards; refined through discussions. Concepts were developed and prototyped into final outcomes.
All phases, starting with conceptualisation of graphics to fabric/trim sourcing, printing, strike-off approvals, colour matching, coordinating with vendors for timely fabric procurement to conceptualising the styling had a timeline with contingencies for anticipated hitches.
