THE TALE OF LUXURY - SS/14 for WOMENSWEAR
The project consists of garments inspired from silhouettes of vintage apparel and their details. The products included in the collections are kurtas, dresses, over-garments, churidars and pyjamas.
Gold/Silver leaf painting is a contemporary technique derived from miniature gold paintings. The first collection was derived from the angarakha, the angarakhi and the chogha. Badlawork or traditionally known as ‘fardi ka kaam’ is originally a craft from Lucknow. The inspiration for the second collection was from a Japanese pilgrim garment called Ohenro-gi. The concept was to create a range which was minimalistic at the same time attractive. Varaq printing is a complex and tedious process practiced by few craftsmen around Jaipur. This collection was inspired from the ghaghra and choli. The concept of colour blocking was used to create a range of garments.
