The scope of the project entailed working hand-in-hand with the archives of woven materials for flat weaves. It was an extensive study of existing material resources and re-working on them to make an innovative product range of hand-woven floor coverings on a vertical loom and pit loom. Keeping in mind the target clientele, new explorations in surface ornamentation and natural yarn were carried out to create a natural handmade look. This resulted in the creation of a new collection of samples flaunting basic yet classic looking weaves, punctuation of basic colours, stripes, geometric patterns, and embossed effects.
