Guide

The aim was to find a craft tradition that could be taken forward in a more contemporary manner in the form of wallpapers and lifestyle products. The title ‘India Lives’ is self-explanatory, and aims to focus on the many craft traditions of the country. Although the craft of Kalamkari is one of the most popular crafts known, the challenge was taking it up and giving it a twist instead of seeing it in its usual. A detailed study of the craft seemed like a great opportunity. The proposal of using the craft tradition was well accepted by Ram, owner and founder of WariWatai.
