This project was sponsored by Dastkar Andhra. It is a non-profit trust working within Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to promote the interests of the producer communities of hand-woven cotton fabric. It called for fabric development and innovation for an increased range of products. The concept was to enhance weavers' understanding of colours and dyes and thereby their palette, which would give them confidence to follow any colour forecast as indicated by the market. The project attempted to find ways to create product ranges with looks that were feasible in the market within the constraints of an existing setup. In short, reducing the chain of value addition yet improving income.
