The aim of the project at Ethicus was to design a collection of organic cotton saris for today’s market that are classic yet modern, and contemporary in their look and appeal to a wider audience. The collection of saris was developed at Ethicus over a period of seven months. It drew its inspiration from the breathtaking flowers and gardens of Europe, the poems of Wordsworth, the novels of Jane Austen and Enid Blyton and childhood memories of the fragrance of the spring season. I realised that design is a very small part of the entire process and that many people play an important role in creating one sari.
