The project is aimed at developing experimental fabrics, using new techniques and methods to bring about a change in the interiors of cars and give it a new dimension and language. BMD is the largest manufacturer of automotive furnishing fabrics in India. The focus was on getting exposure to the world of automobiles as well as the textile that goes into the making of a car, besides an understanding of mass scale production and new techniques and processes used in fabric making. The final outcome was to develop a concept and fabric for the interiors of an entry-level hatchback (based on Celerio) and a C-segment sedan (based on Ciaz).
