Learning from Bandra

The Bandra Project aims to understand and actively engage with the tangible and intangible aspects of this vibrant suburb. One also looked out for design opportunities and conducted pilot programmes to understand public response and learn from mistakes. The project is about providing urban inserts to enhance pedestrian experience in the suburb. The inserts scale from systems to products in an urban scale, spanning from macro to micro level interventions.

One collected data for following: a style guide / citizen portraiture / mapping formatting / heritage guidelines / city manual style publication that one would aim to publish as a guide to building in Bandra, further creating a ‘zine’ for the project. Here, one has tried to explain utopian Bandra, which is situated in the near future (2019), through five artifacts from the future. It is an experimental publication to share the studio’s vision and design directions.
