ENTERING INTO SPACE (MUSEUM DESIGN)

The objective was to design an exhibition gallery on space science. The exhibition had to be informative, but in an interactive and enjoyable way. The target audience were children from 10 – 18 years old.

The design was an attempt to communicate different kinds of information through displays and models. Existing work on the same topic was to know the mistakes done earlier, which should not be repeated. Initially, in the design process, content, story line and narrative structure were decided. Later, on the basis of concept and visitor flow, visualisation was begun. Content was provided from the sponsor, but later, inspirational and necessary visuals were collected from the internet

One had the challenge of conveying the ideas of design to non-designers. Conceptual renders for the space were provided as the final deliverables for the project.
