JEWELS OF GLASS BEADED JEWELRY FOR PURDILNAGAR CRAFT CLUSTER
The main objective was to bring value addition to handcrafted glass beads by creating a new range of fashion jewelry. It was intended to develop new beads, and bead products within a cluster of Purdilnagar craftsmen.

The design process involved field visits and developing an idea of market connects. Research in accessories was carried out. After analysing the aspects of bead development and assembling and limitations of glass as material, it was decided to come up with a range of jewelry. Inspiration from Mughal architecture was derived. Two different themes on marble inlay and facets were worked upon for two collections. Workshops were organized for exploring new techniques and skills development.

Jewellery was designed with inclusions of crochet and traditional techniques. It was ensured that simple techniques suitable in the cluster were explored and the use of tools was minimal. The jewellery included neckpieces, earrings, anklets and wrist accessories.
