The aim of the project was to design a minimally invasive way to relieve paranasal sinus blockage in patients with Chronic Rhino Sinusitis (CRS), who cannot afford surgical procedures in order to prevent resulting complications and invasive surgery. The project began with understanding a provisional patent that had been filed as a novel concept to conduct balloon sinuplasty, a minimally invasive surgery used to relieve paranasal sinus blockage. The project currently is at the stage of clinical trials, and a bio compatible version of the existing prototype is being created. The current concept will go through further iterations before being ready for a market release in 2-3 years.
