Bajaj Auto Ltd., over a period of years, has changed its image, perception and the work culture through implementation of various work practices, design strategies and effective marketing principles.
Bajaj had a well sorted out marketing strategy for all mediums of communication including print, television, radio and other outdoor media except the web.
Consequently, my project focused on devising a web strategy which would provide a consistent and effective information architecture, improve end user participation, provide consistent and collaborative social interaction, identify and influence the target users, provide an effective conduit of information dissemination, and providing relevant information to individuals. The overarching goal was to provide an overview of Bajaj Auto’s new identity.
I grounded my work in extensive research including user studies which consisted of surveys of stakeholders ,competitor analysis, identifying and segregating user groups, aligning brand values with web presence, suggesting alternative avenues for market penetration and information dissemination
The aspired outcomes were a vastly enhanced and relevant web presence which influences decisions of buyers, improves ownership experiences of current customers, improve credibility of the brand, significantly enhance brand recall, works in sync with other marketing/sales exercises and ultimately improve sales figures.
As reflected by the design process for this project, the strategy model has a direction roadmap, and identifies target avenues where buying decisions are actually made. I also devised a search engine optimization plan and internet marketing services. My model was further transformed into a proposed user interface for the web and mobile phone with easy to use user interfaces. |
