Sikhism Beyond Indian Ethnicity

The project is about documenting the life and rituals of foreigners as Sikh converts. This study comprises research and practical experience of many followers of diverse religious ethnicity who convert to Sikhism with various justifications. People are constantly in search of different path to make their lives better.

The project research begins with the plan to travel to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The plan is to visit these areas, target the right people who can share some in-depth perspectives and understanding, through individual interviews, focus group interviews and an ethnography study.

Further understanding the community thoroughly by living and experiencing their lifestyle by being one of them helps a lot to find the insights in detail. Photography is the main focus medium to present the hidden insights. Capturing the essence of their daily lifestyle, culture, values, the way they look at things from their unique perspective, is the core intent.
