This project was aimed at changing the way people perceive their responsibility towards avoiding the environmental degradation the world faces today. The challenge was to transform scientific warnings into an application, which would be both compelling and engaging. New visual and interaction cues were explored, to see what catered best to both the user’s likability and environmental well-being. The outcome was a strategically designed gaming plus social application called the ‘Reuse Rangers’. Being a gaming application the user was enthralled instead of forced to go out and undertake real life eco-friendly activities. It was developed not only as a phone application, but also as an evolving system.
