This project revolves around the use of sheet metal for home furnishings. A piece of furniture induces the users to spend time together when they are at home or while they are working or relaxing. The challenge was to inject a new life into the product by way of a design intervention wherein it retained its identity yet rendered it more modern and better suited to the needs and sensibilities of today’s generation. The final prototype was a mix of metal and felt/cotton yarn, which was a very original and innovative output that managed to tackle the initial negative concerns about the material.
