My project was designing five themed collections, which comprised a range of personal products illustrating the selected theme for Eltorro.
Evoke Ventures Private Limited was planning to give a young image to their domestic brand called Eltorro and take it globally. The export company had become more of a place to sell their rejects from. Moreover, they had not focused on the brand for a long time. As they could see a lot of potential in the domestic market, they wanted to take it more seriously by giving it a completely changed look, a different product category, and a different image. So it was more like renovating the look of the brand with a completely changed visual identity, image, logo, product line and display unit, where I was focusing on the new product line for the brand.
The purpose of the design was to come up with new product ideas to fill the gap that had been prevailing in the market. The product line consisted of office bags, hand bags, and evening bags, which could include a purse or a clutch bag. In the men’s product category, I had to design weekender bags, laptop bags, and wallets.
Every brand has its own identity. Identity could be made up of the controllable elements of a company, product, or service brand, such as the core essence, positioning, brand name, punch line, logo, representation through products, and experience and thus, could be modified at any given point. The audience’s perception solidifies the brand’s image. As perceptions fluctuate and change, so does the image.
One of the valuable lessons I learned as a professional and as an individual is to have a good attitude, which is very important because that’s what makes you different from the rest and also helps you along the journey.
