The Project was offered by UTV Entertainment Television Ltd, Mumbai. The objective was to develop a strategic branding for a show ‘ JUST KHANS’ in their upcoming channel UTV STARS. I was to come up with all the graphic deliverables for the show as the extension of the branding. The design brief was to bring up a branding for a show only meant for the Khans of the Bollywood industry and their gossip, talk shows, exclusive interviews and whereabouts.

The channel targets the niche class of the society as its prime audiences and besides the other segment of the society who follows the targeted segment.

Design process and decision were followed the by the research and identifications through conceptualizations. I began by understanding the changing pattern of viewership, in the Bollywood and the television industry. Recognizing the scope and process of brand retention in a television shows was key to this process. This was followed by analysis of the brand consumption pattern of the targeted segment of the audiences in the society, to identify their tastes and preferences. I made use of a concise study of the Indian audience in the contemporary world of entertainment, for a final study.

The final deliverables are in the most digital format. The deliverables are the Show Identity, Show Packaging and Promo, Info-elements and the Set Design.

It was a heart throbbing experience to get an overview of Indian society and the insights of the taste and preferences of the audiences. The learning encompassed the strategic branding of a show in the most dynamic medium. I was fortunate to gain an understanding of the aspects of broadcasting technicalities with design development. The working process of a broadcasting unit and assimilating with various other aspects in terms of production of a show was a sheer learning phase for me.
