The wheelchair is one of the most commonly used assistive devices for enhancing personal mobility, which in turn plays a significant role in enriching one’s quality of life. The main motive of this project was to bring about a fundamental change in the mobility of the disabled in India by designing a smart product while making it affordable. The brief of this project was to design a unique and modular wheelchair, which could be customised according to the user’s needs. The final outcome was an affordable, compact, foldable, three-wheeled design chair that was comfortable and could be put into satisfactory use by the user.
