Synopsis
Studying the existing micro trends in the area of sustainable fashion and unearthing directions on a macro level, outlined the objectives of this project based on design for social impact. The unique contribution of this work is the visualisation and revival of obsolete traditional garment construction and its development in a novel context, along the lines of the contemporary Indo-fusion styling.
The collection was based on the thematic interpretation of various female deities of the Indian mythology. Flared feminine silhouettes in fabrics like silk and organic cotton, the use of traditional Varanasi brocades and a vibrant colour palette completed this contemporary-take-on-tradition look.
