Synopsis

The project aimed to develop the form and surfaces for a collection of various lifestyle products like rugs, lampshades and cushion covers.

Justifying its futuristic theme, the collection featured geometric structures, grids, sharp lines and cuts, with a touch of 3-D structures and two contrasting parallel colour palettes running side by side. Many unconventional materials such as rubber-coated blackouts and various plastic sheets were explored. Simple techniques such as quilting, pin tuck, patchwork, hand embroidery, machine embroidery, paper folding and origami were used in an innovative fashion.
