Synopsis
The brief called for the designing of a new and unconventional summer collection of saris and dupattas targeted at the modern Indian woman who is rooted in traditional values yet modern in her outlook. The garments were made in cotton, silk and cotton-silk blends from both Varanasi and Chanderi. The post-colonial influence on Indian fashion was taken as a reference to design the final collection. Elements like crests, wreaths, festoons and laces were incorporated into the woven products.
