Synopsis
In today’s world of consumerism, nothing escapes being potentially consumed or being labelled as consumable – even the landscape. The rural ambience has become a commodity for the urban dwellers and vice versa which has made the urban fabric porous through such double-sided transactions. While transiting between the spaces; structural, architectural, behavioural and cultural changes can be noted.
This project is a visual representation of various connections between rural and urban regions in India and reflects the current scenario of rapid urbanisation. The colourful photographs trace the spaces where urban merges with rural and explores the distinctions that define one from the other and the grey areas where they blur. This project provokes thought and query about the need of urbanisation and migration.
